Zoning Hearing Board

This is a three-member board appointed by Borough Council. The Zoning Hearing Board is a quasi-judicial board that receives its authority from the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code. The Board conducts formal hearings on zoning variances, special exceptions, interpretations and appeals. The primary purpose is to help assure fair and equitable applications and administration of the Zoning Ordinance.

This is a five-member commission appointed by Council to act as an independent voice representing the overall interests of the Community. They review rezoning requests, sewer extension plans and any subdivision or land development plans. They are governed by the rules and regulations in the Zoning Ordinance and the Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance.
